UTAH UPDATE: we're here!

So on May 20th-21st we made this journey. 1,567 miles, 26 hours, 5 states, one Mt. Rushmore sighting, one bird murder and one tire blow out later, we arrive in Cedar City, Utah. :) We have been hanging out with grandma TT & Mazie in St. George and finally found a great apartment up in Cedar City. It's a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment on the 2nd story of a small complex directly across the street from campus. In this picture of Nicholi on our cute balcony, you can see the cement SUU sign right behind him.

So ya, the location couldn't be better, especially because I want to make the switch (Nicholi already has) to bikes & ride them everywhere. It is also just a couple blocks from the cute downtown area. Annnd our landlord just happens to be the transfer adviser at SUU who got us our scholarships! He & his wife are only a little older than we are & are super friendly, which makes living there even nicer. Landlords are half the battle when renting so we kind of scored with this place. Our rent is incredibly reasonable and internet is included, gotta love that. Since we've arrived, I have started my summer class (drawing I) & finished my first week of it. It's super basic, just a prerequisite for my other art classes, but it's a nice easy way to transition into SUU. Nicholi got CPR certified for his EMT training course that starts end of June. I also went to Turlock for a few days to see my brother graduate high school which was great. Being home is always nice.
Now I'm job hunting & it doesn't look like it will be in a salon any time soon. I can't believe how hard getting my license here has been. But it's not the end of the world because even if i was cutting hair, it would be minimal. So i just hope i find a really nice part time job either on campus or somewhere chill. But for now we're just awaiting the rest of Nicholi's family & all our stuff to get here! We brought the essentials with us in our car but packed up everything else and left it with Nicholi's parents for them to load up in their giant U-HAUL. Wendy, Guy & Ruby are leaving first &bringing a few things & should arrive Monday or Tuesday. Brian and Sara are staying behind to finish packing & loading & are coming in the truck with everything around the 17th. So even though we'll be living in a very bare apartment, it was worth not driving all our stuff across the country again, that was miserable & i never want to do it ever again if i can help it ha. But i can't wait for everything to get here so we can put our house together! Here are some before pictures cause everyone loves before & after shots :)

Bathroom has a tub YAY!!!
Here is the master bedroom
Closet inside master bedroom, love that storage!
& the 2nd bedroom, or as Nicholi calls it, his man room.
 Our lovely kitchen.

& this is a view of our living room standing in the kitchen.

It is very open and has a lot of natural light & windows, which i LOVE. We looked at a few basement apartments which were nice but the windows were itty-bitty and at the top of the walls so i could never look outside, which is not okay with me. You feel like your living in a cave or something. This is much better. Can't wait to paint & decorate! During our trip we stopped at a Panda Express for lunch and my fortune cookie read "Elegant surroundings will soon be yours" which i thought was totally perfect ha. In other news, my sister is pregnant again, YAY, another sweet niece or nephew, can't wait for August 15th to meet him or her :) Oh and we are all going to the beach again this year, soooo looking forward to that. Until next time!
